I have set up two NT member servers with a raid config and IDR. I tried doing the recovery disks and restoring onto the second server (this server is to be placed at the opposite end of the complex for disaster recovery, ready to drop into no1's place). The 4mmdat.sys doesnt seem to work with the Netfinity 3500 and the archive python 12/24 dat drive. The s4dat.sys from seagate does. The only file to be put onto the recovery disks is the 4mmdat.sys. The tape is put in the drive when prompted (in the second machine) and says &quot;REWINDING&quot;. This stays like this for ever. Is this a flaw with the system of am i doing something wrong.<br>

Has anyone seem Intelligent Disaster Recovery work fully?

Yes, We have used it extensively with Win 4.0 sp 6a with BE 7.3.2371. We have used the bootable CD-ROMs, not disks. If your tape drive changed, you will have to make a new .dr file, since the tape drive information is in the .dr file that is created when you run the IDR Wizard.

You also should keep in mind, that IDR is ment for a revovery of the locale system e.g. if you have a HDD crash.
Not to transfer your current system onto another.
If you just want to mirror your existing server onto another, then you should use something like Norton ghost.
