I am going to try and make a weblog with threaded user comments using only text files. I have a general vague idea of what it will take. But could some of you throw some ideas at me? thanks

it can be a bad idea cause you are going to have concurrecy. Isn't it best to store in Database to avoid trouble?

yes it would be......but first of all I don't know anything about MySQL...but I could learn pretty quick but my server doesn't support it. Sooooo I am kinda in a bind. soooo any ideas?
