Equipment: Proliant, Promise tx2000 IDE card with 2 40gb hdd's mirrored, 6 disk SCSI array, W2K Server. IDE drives are the OS and programs. The SCSI drives are for storage

Problem: With the SCSI connected the OS won't boot. The system tries to boot from the SCSI drives. If you change the boot order to SCSI->IDE it will revert back to IDE->SCSI. The system boots fine with SCSI disconnected. What's worse, when we try to boot from a floppy or CD no drives are recognized only the floppy and CD drives.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Excuse me, I mean if you set bios to boot to IDE first it will automatically set back to SCSI first.

The promise card is seen by the machine as a scsi controller as well, this is a known problem with the ide raid controllers, they dont co-exist well with existing scsi raid systems. You can even have conflicts between onboard sata and ide raid controllers. in the end, its the controller number that determines which scsi device on the chain is the bootup card.
