My hyphenation just wont work in Indesign CS 2. I´ve reinstalled, tried without updating to 4.0.2, tried any possible option including hyphenation.
Whether I´m setting the language to English: USA, English UK or Swedish (which I prefer to use) Indesign just wont hyphenate!
Are there any "hidden" hyphenation/dictionary options?
Has anyone experienced this problem? (I´ve seen some similar problems regarding hyph.../dictionaries, but I just can´t understand whats wrong).

Of course I´ve checked all hyphenation options in the various places where they can be found...

My computer is a SP G5 1,8 GHX, 1.5 GB RAM, MAC OS 10.4.5. Adobe Creative Suite 2 (English), Indesign 4.0.2

I´d appreciate any help or suggestions!

Thanks! /Lukas

Fin dag i dag. I just whipped up some jibberish in Swedish. The paragraph hyphenated just fine and could be adjusted in the Paragraph Palette drop-down menu.
However, when I tried TYPING a hyphen, it typed a "+" instead. I had to punch the "/" button to get a "-". That was weird.
vær så god. Jer håper det hjelper.

Jeg forstår norsk bedre enn svensk.

Besides preferences have you open the Paragraph palette and made sure that the little hyphenate box at the bottom is checked? Also, if using any paragraph styles, you have to check or uncheck hyphenation.

RegistrationMark: Finfin dag. Lite regn bara! Just a reply in swedish...

However. My problem is solved. I can´t really say what made it work. But I did two different things. First off I unistalled CS2 AND Office, then I checked the systemdiscs permissions and did a disc repair on the same disc. I also deleted all prefs-files for Adobe and Office. Then I reinstalled CS 2 again and: TADA! I got fully working dictionaries again.

Thanks guys for your input and I hope my hard days figuring this out may be to someones use.
