I have a interesting problem with just a couple users on my Term Server 2000. Whenever the RMA ICR report is is run from these users the report fails with this error:

"The remaining Text does not appear to be part of the formula"

Now, I can log into Term Server with another users name and login, but into Macola with one of the effected users name and the report runs fine. I can also run the report from my workstation without problems. The problem seems to be profile specific on the term server, I have blow away the profile and reloaded it...and that didn't work.

I have used a user that has never logged into TS (Term Server) and then logged into Macola using a effected user name and login, and the report runs fine. SOOoooo anybody got any ideas?

Win 2k TS
Macola 7.6.200.5
MS SQL 2000 DB

Thanks in advance

We had this several weeks back. The file cruflma.dll is not properly registered and so the custom Macola/crystal functions such as MacolaNumberToDate() and MacolaRemoveZeros() are not being recognized as legitimate crystal funtions.

See thread639-739346 for the entire discussion on this.

dgillz,

Thanks for the reply. I read through the tread and I have tried regestering the DLL. I get an error back that the

"dllregisterserver in cruflma.dll failed. Return Code was 0x80004005"

I have gone through MS site and it takes me in loops the error code is for serveral different problems.

Does anyone have ideas?

thanks in advance

Joe

My guess would be that the cruflma.dll was developed using Visual Basic and you do not have the proper Visual Basic Runtimes running on your server. The link below has downloads for all of the different versions of the runtimes. The DLL could potentially require the runtimes for version 6 thru 4. I would suggest downloading and installing all of these and then try reregistering your control.

Thanks Stravis,

Which link are you refering too?

After beating this problem down, I think it is a rights issue on the Term server, users with admin rights to the domain can run the ICR. So I think it is down to permissions on a reg Key.....but which one?

thanks

Joe

Sorry about that link. I guess it isn't the problem, so no need for a link.

Is editing the ICR and replacing the formula that calls the UFL an option? All of Macola's goofy UFLS can be replaced with built in formulas and this eliminates problems with UFL's not being registered - may not be a long term fix ('cause you'd have to rewrite every report) but it might get you going in the short term...

Thanks everyone for the help and insight, this is another one of those Macola problems that get you out of no where... Jeez, and I consider myself pretty good (in a cynical way) with this program.

If I find the right solution I will post it on this thread.

Joe

If the problem only exists for a couple of users, you might want to try recreating their user profiles on the Terminal Server.

Make sure that your users have full rights and priviledges to the TEMP directory on the terminal server.

The registry key is hkey\local\software\odbc as well as seagate software, macola, pervasive. Be sure all users have full access. Sometimes the craxdrt.dll also needs to be registered. In addition, did you copy the winnt\crystal folder to each user's windows folder on the terminal server. See also infomine 04.804.299 for some related problems. It seems to me that the fix for your error is different on every workstation where I've encountered it.
