Icons Missing

Installed NETSCAPE 6.1 and most of my icons in the system tray vanished. but if I logoff of WIN2000 and LOG back into the system, all the ICONS come back! Any body see this problem before.

..does it continue to do this?

One thing to try is setting the taskbar to auto-hide, or refresh the screen (F5).

I have icons in my taskbar that I close, and the icon will not go away until i move my mouse over the icon, or refresh it.

I did try that but unfortunately the F5 did not work to restore the icons. It is odd since it is only three icons of the nine that usually get loaded. I wrote to NETSCAPE to see if they found anything with the install process.

Hmm..I found this from Microsoft:

open regedit, and follow this:
To resolve this issue, delete the following registry value, log off, and then log on to the computer:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\ClassicShell

This is often happens when something tries interfering with Internet Explorer - a.k.a. Netscape!
