icons for VB6 1

Does anybody know where can i get free icons for my VB programs ( f.e: new ,edit, close, print buttons)

They come with Visual Basic. If you chose to instal them that is.
Look in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Graphics\Icons

How can I make my own icon? I have some jpg or bmp files and when I try to to load these files, it say "invalid values" I can't just rename the file to extension .ico

Visual C++ allows you to make your own icons. There are also seeveral editors around. One of the most popular ones is Microangelo. They have a trial download. Just do a websearch and you should be able to find there webpage. Hope this helps. Anything is possible, the problem is I only have one lifetime.

You can import many different types of images and convert them to icons.
I like the interface but it's a little buggy. Unfortunately, the bugs seem to reside in the saving operation and I've lost a couple of projects in failed save attempts.

I should also have pointed out that the standard file open, copy, paste etc 'icons' provided with VB are not actually Icons, they are bitmaps. Look in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Graphics\Bitmaps\OffCtlBr
