icon problem

Hello

I connected a Maxtor External Hard Drive to my PC and it was working fine. Another small USB Hard Drive had already connected to my PC before I connect Maxtor. When I started Maxtor the icon was correct. After some time I noticed that Maxtor icon changed to Lexor icon and Lexor icon changed to a flat box. I don't understand why the icon interchanged. Please tell me how do I re-gain Maxtor original icon?

I tried to re-install the Maxtor CD but it did not do any good.

Please suggest how to get back the Maxtor icon on Maxtor Drive.

Download TweakUI from Microsoft and install the application.

. First, click Explorer, Customization and increase the Folder customization limit to at least 800

. Second, click Repair and rebuild the icon cache.

Reboot and test.

I did downloded and Installed TweakUI. I clicked on Explorer and I don't know where to look for customization and how to increase the Floder customization limit to 800.
Could you please explain in details.

Click on the "+" symbol next to the word Explorer
Click on "Customizations."

Increase the value for folders in the entry box at the top. I would do something on the order of 1200.

I tried it and re-started. Still icon looks the same. Not changed. What I should do next to change the Maxtor icon to its original?

If the icon seems inappropriate, you need to force a different selection using the registry.

I will warn you that the standard icon settings are determined whether any driver is Digitally signed or not. If signed, the standard XP device icons are used. If unsigned drivers are used, the icons are drawn from the driver set.

You might want to contact Lexor technical support. I am concerned any advice depending on registry edits for you may prove overwhelming.
