I think the problem might be b/c my ico, is 32px x 32px and the colors are set to millions of colors, instead of 256. "Nothing is Impossible!"
How did you create your icon file? What software did you use? You do know that renaming a BMP file to ICO doesn't work - don't you? That was my biggest error.
Try a different file (seach your PC harddrive for *.ico) and copy that to your favicon.ico for now. Does that work. You can call it some other name if you use cian's trick.
You may need to "Drag the icon to the right a couple of times". That will cause the page to refresh and the icon should show.
Let me know how it goes. Einstein47 (Love is like PI - natural, irrational, endless, and very important.)
I used IconCool Editor, I didn't rename .bmp to .ico
Refreshed several times, and used <LINK> to link it, but it didn't work, I'll try renaming the file to something else. Could be that my isp doesn't support ico files (but when I type inthe address for the icon, I can see it as a little picture????????????? "Nothing is Impossible!"
swat- the favicon.ico file must be a 256 color, 16x16 file. This is probably the problem. Robert Carpenter

favicons love to make it difficult for you to see them after you have implemented it! I find the best way to make them appear is too drag the link from the address bar into the Links toolbar, browse to another page, then click the favourite just created. The favicon will then appear for me... After that it displays everytime! Miles
