I think I've seen threads on this before, but can't find the one I'm thinking of.

We have all PRI's coming in to all of our offices, some have POTs lines. I'm used to just the number shower, with the word External above it. Some sites however, the last one being in Largo Florida, had name showing on the display on the phones. They are using Verizon Analog lines.

I guess I always thought the IPO would show only number.

Does anyone else in here get only number or number and name on PRI's? I don't know if any of our PRI sites have had names show up. Just the analog lines site.

Here is my experience on that. If you have analog 1FB's, I believe you should always have name & number. I have always received it, make sure you set the line type as "loopstart ICLID". The PRI world is alittle different. If you take out a Merlin Magix and put in an IP Office, a Merlin can only handle "AT&T Custom" also called "5ESS". That protocol can only send number to your system. You can convert it to an NI2 Protocol, that will send name and number to your system. Hope this helps

Thanks for the response. We have Global Crossing PRI's coming in to each of our sites, and they are all NI2. As far as I know, none of them get the name though.

I talked to our Global Crossing rep today to find out if that is something they need to enable on their side and I am waiting to hear back from them.
