Usually the RAID BIOS is accessible when you are booting the computer; usually you will see a message such as "Press Ctrl-M to enter RAID BIOS configuration...".
Sometimes there is a utility installed in your Operating System with the RAID driver; for example with the AMI MegaRAID devices there is a utility called /etc/megamgr which gives you an identical interface to the one in the BIOS.
Did you use Driver Version 6.10 (including Controller-Firmware) ?
I have similar problem with 5.0.7 and Raid5i.
I get this messages in /etc/messages
and system hangs for minutes and
filesystems are inconsistent:
NOTICE: (ips0): Resetting controller.
NOTICE: Sdsk: Unrecoverable error writing SCSI disk 1 dev 1/96 (ha=0 bus=0 id=1
NOTICE: Sdsk: Unrecoverable error writing SCSI disk 1 dev 1/96 (ha=0 bus=0 id=1
NOTICE: Sdsk: Unrecoverable error writing SCSI disk 0 dev 1/42 (ha=0 bus=0 id=0
and so on.
