Hi,
i'me having some "trouble" with our 2 brand new ibm X342 servers running on a W2k server OS.
After installing the OS (with all the m$ sp's and patches available) the server had no problems at all.
But after 2 days (without installing anything else on it) the server just froze completely (no numlock either).
I thought this could be some "bad luck" but after a day the server rebooted itself overnight. The day after it froze again.
I called IBM support but they had no clue, they just gave me the standard "run the newest patches" answer.
So i did that, but this just can't be the sollution.
Because if it is, why can't ibm write this in the server manual (they should now it by now, because w2k is out for quite some time now
Both servers have the same problem, and both have the IBM director card installed and they are both completely up-to-date on both hardware-patch and os-patch level.
i have installed the OS with use of the IBM-pre installation cd's as told by IBM.
Since both servers need to go "live" within a week now,
i must be certain that they are stable.
Does some one have a clue ??
all tips are welcom
grtz
