Just bought a few of these drives and they're not working with aha-2940 SCSI controler even if The controler found the drive. Fdisk cant access these drives and i dont know why. Anybody know about these scsi IBM drive ???
It's possible that the drives are duff, but you could try doing a low level format with the controller card, this might fix any errors on the drives and make them usable.
You'll find the option to do this by pressing CTRL+A when the scsi bus is being scanned. It's very straight forward.
I'd be more specific but the only machine I have with scsi in at the mo is the one I'm using ;-)

If you are in Dos or 9x then you will need DOSMode drivers for your scsi card.

Get the manufacturer's diagnostics and see what it shows.
You might also look for the specs, it might be that you are missing a jumper to tell the drive to wake up.

Up to date i tried with the install process of windows NT, windows 98se and ms-d0s 6.22. Still the drive is visible but not accessible, termination is OK. I bought 4 of theses hdd (Ebay) to insall differents OS on each of them and use removable scsi drawers for switching. I'll try to jump the autostart pin ans see.
