My IBM Thinkpad T20 runs for several hours then all of a sudden puts up a warning message that it is going into Standby mode. Clicking F4 to get out only works for less than a minute and goes back into standby.

If I reboot, the problem goes away for a few hours then starts again.

I am on AC power and I have set the Power Options to NOT go into Standby.

Is this a motherboard electrical problem?

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm having the same problem with my T21. I'm also running on AC. My battery is pretty much shot -- it's full charge capacity is only 3% of the design capacity. I'm wondering if that's part of the problem.
