IBM ThinkPad Help menu wiped from hard disk 1

I have just bought a second hand IBM ThinkPad T21 laptop and whilst changing the operating system I accidentally wiped the Help menu (ThinkPad Assistant) from the hard drive.

This has made it extremely difficult to use, particularly as I don't understand laptops, anyway!

Can anyone please suggest a way round the problem. IBM Support website doesn't seem to offer any d/l of this subject but other folk must have a similar problem if the hard drive crashes.

Any help very gratefully received.

Very many thanks for this very helpful reply. I haven't had time to get down to it yet but I am sure that this is going to be extremly useful in solving my problem.
