We have had major issues with these terminals. IBM has already had to send us a replacement touch screens for almost everyone we sold because they were failing. Now they are reaching around 2 years old and flaking out at a fast rate when they ran strong for 2 years +\-. Anyone seen this? Is there a simple cure? It doesn't matter if it is running XP or 98.
Selling the Posiflex Jiva series now. Big Screens and no issues as of yet.

I have over 24 IBM SurePOS 532 installed at our clubs and I had to send in at least 4 back for touch screen issues. All these are less than 1 year, so all of them are under warranty. No other issues other then that.

Could it be, that the mentioned SurePOS´s are from End 2001 / Beginning 2002?

There is indeed one series/charge of SurePOS´s with defective Touches - IBM told us and confessed the fault.

They are absolute garbage. I was a firm believer in the product until they quickly started failing everywhere.

Touches fail, backlighting fails prematurely, even cardreaders fail.

pawn them off on someone while they are still working, and save yourself the future expenses and aggravation.

We've got several hundred Jiva's in our customers and haven't had any issues (aside from the ocassional out of box failure).
