I BOUGHT A 82.3 GIG IBM OEM HARDDRIVE . WHEN I INSTALL I...IT COMES UP AS 33.8GB I PRESUME ITS SOMETHING WITH THE BIOS I UPDATED IT TO THE NEWEST VERSION AND IT STILL SAYS THIS ANY IDEAS????????????

check the jumper settings. my deskstar 120 gig has a jumper setting that only shows it as 30 some gig.

It also depends on what system you have i cant remeber which one it is but i know a version of windows will only reconize it as a smaller hdd.
