IBM NetVista secondary HD spins down

Hello,

I am running XP Pro SP1 on an IBM NetVista 831081U. Master HD is OEM, Slave is an 80G Seagate.

Power Management
System Standby: Never
turn off hard disks: never
System Hibernates: never

Problem: Slave HD spins down after approx 30 minutes of inactivity, and of course it temporarily hangs the system when it spins back up.

I tried using this drive for my swap file, thinking that an open file would keep it from spinning down, but no joy.

Any suggestions?

How is the power mgmt set in xp itself?

I have Power Options in XP set to:

Turn off Monitor: After 5 hours
Turn off hard disks: NEVER
System Standby: Never
System Hibernates: Never
