Hi all,

have there been any problems seen with the installation of IA770 on S8400/G650, CM3.1.2?

Does anyone has step by step documentation for installing IA770 on S8400 (CM3.1.2)? I have tried everything and messaging service are always down!

Does it matter to which interface is assigned Processor Ethernet (Control Network A or Enterprise LAN)? Do I need to add IP-interface procr? Also, in AIW I don't have field for messaging IP address, I must fill it thru Maintenance Web Interface/Configure Server, is this normal?

Thanks in advance,

Bst Rgds

If you powered down without having the proper patches applied, you probably corrupted the database, thus it will never start.

Unless you've got a backup from before the corruption, you'll need to call Avaya to get the database rebuilt.

I did this like 5 times before I made a backup of a blank IA770 to keep on hand for stuff like this...

P.S. It's more of an IA770 running on CM3.1.2 vs. running on the S8400....

thanx sjforcum

but this is initial installation of IA770??!! Do you told me to do backup of IA770 immediately after installation?

You bet.

If you did NOT patch the IA770 before a reboot (even a graceful one), you're hosed.

BTW This is a known problem with CM3.1.2....

OK, thanx again sjforcum

I tried to run installation from the beginning, and put patch A6086rf+b, but still no progress!!! Is this good way?
Can I try to install CM3.1.1 and solve this problem?

YOu need the Audix patch AND the cornerstone patch....

thanx sjforcum,

your tips was very helpful! thanx a lot!!!!!
Yesterday afternoon service was up, but when I came this morning at the work messaging service was down and I can't make it to work!???
Did you have similar experience? what can I do? Maybe to try with CM3.1.1, this is happening on CM3.1.2

when I try to start messaging software I get this message:

Telnet into the S8400 and type "start -s Audix". Then type "statapp -U". See if the Messaging Service comes on-line.

I would also try re-booting to start fresh...I don't know how many IA770's you've worked on but they take a LONG time (like litterally 5-10 minutes) to come on-line. Once the server powers on, telnet in and run STATAPP -U. It will refresh continually until ALL services come on-line.

Thanx sjforcum , you helped me to resolve this issue! without you I couldn't make it!
thanx again

can you shed some light on the reinstall. I have the same exact problem with a 4.0 install. the only difference with my issue is that the start -s audix command tells me that audix is already running.
