Hello All,
We have just tried to install CM3 (including the latest patch) on a s8300/g700 set up and included the IA770 internal voicemail. It appears to have been installed correctly (everywhere says words like "success" throughout the install) and the license file correctly gives us an 8 port system. BUT the service won't start and the "start -s Audix -c" command tells us that there is NO SUCH application as Audix.
I realise this is brand new stuff but has anyone managed to install it correctly? Or encountered similar problems??
As always any help would be greatly appreciated.

DOUG

Hello Longhuhu,
I have read the documentation back to front....thanks for the help. It is now with Avaya.
Thanks
Doug

Hello All,
Just so you know this was caused by corruption in the lac file (which seems to be associated with passwords). I had not set my telnet settings correctly (with the carriage return and line feed changed) so the option to install the voicemail was skipped.
I reckon the corruption came from then installing a license file that expected to see the voicemail installed when it had not been.
All fixed now.
Thanks
Doug

Hello Doug,

I have the same problems as you and solved it with your method.

Thanks a lot

I am having the same problem but fixing my telnet settings did not resolve mine. Are you guys using the TFTP manual method or a CD connected to the USB port?

Hello mgoston,
It is not that changing the telnet settings can solve the problem, it is that they caused the problem. As I say you have to get Avaya to mess around with the lac file which holds the passwords (unless you are capable enough to do this yourself which I am not). I had the CD connected to the USB port directly.
Thanks
Doug

The problem installing IA770 with telnet is that, by default, you will not see the installation program ask if you want to install the messaging software. R3 REQUIRES that the software be installed via CD by selecting the yes prompt. In version 3.0.1 the installation default is set to no. Because of the crlf difference between linux and windows it assumes no and continues the installation. The problem is linux and windows use the cr fl differently. You MUST install the IA770 through the CD (yes I have repeated my self here :)), using the drive mastering program.

To install the software do the following:
telnet (do no enter the ip address of the services port!!)
unset crlf
open 192.11.13.6

You will now see the drive remastering program and should be prompted with the choice of installing the messaging software. Don't forget to select yes, if you do not you will have to start over again!!

I suspected an application setting when I did not see the expected prompt to install the messsaging software (It took me two installation to figure it out!!).
My installation was successful when I switched for telent to Hyperterm and used TCP/IP (Winsock). I was later told by Avaya, but have not yet confirmed, that this step is in documentation.

Hope this helps
