I have installed G350 and G700 for a client at different locations, all of them running the IA770 audix on CM 3.1.2. The server rooms are powered down every night and that makes the messaging not to startup in the morning, its offline.
I have installed the C7022rf+c.rpm patches on the S8300 servers and still didnt solve the problem.
I escalated to Avaya and they discovered that the systems are not properly shutdown, that the databases are corrupt. The client just presses the shutdon button and waits for abt 5mins for the system to shut down......I'm still looking for solutions to these problems, any ideas???

Hello,

I have seen this again, and it was Avaya's recomendation to shutdown the S8300 via the Maintenance Web Interface. This stops all applications gracefully before shutting down. After the power up, the IA770 takes about 4-5 minutes to come up, but it comes up!

If you use the button then it does not come up again..

Petran.

If you patched it up AFTER a power down, the database is more than likely hosed. Avaya will need to go in and blow it away and install a clean one (which will be blank).

The above is correct... If the initial programmer did not install the patches on the Ia770 before anything else, this problem will continue. You can try removing the RF+B or C and putting on the RF+D... Most likely this will not fix the problem, but it beats having to rebuild the database....

Thanks guys, your inputs have been helpful. Really appreaciate.
The IA770 is improved now after loading those patches, but for good measure the customer will have to be shutting down via web interface.

The unpatched database would become corrupt even if the shut down WAS graceful.....
