We recently upgraded to Avaya Communication Manager 4 on an S8300/G700 configuration with IA770 R4 for voicemail. I noticed reading through the docs that there is no mention of being able to use POP3 as with previous releases nor was there any mention of IMAP being available. I did notice that IMAPI was integrated, but that appears to be only for use with Message Manager. Is there any method available to enable POP3 or IMAP support on the IA770? According to the older docs you can turn this on via the "Messaging Administration main menu" but this whole menu appears to no longer be there with R4 of IA770. Anyone run into this?

Son of a... yeah I see it now rockspop - well that burns us real good, that was a feature we were counting on in order to let our blackberry users get their voicemails on their PDAs. My choices now are to migrate to an Audix LX or Modular Messaging, doing either of which will force us to setup all new mailboxes and autoattendants and make people re-record everything. What a mess.

Do your due diligence on analyzing MM vs. LX before making the leap. Have your users had a long experience with Intuity Audix up until now? The reason I ask is there may be a similar interface for Audix lovers, but there are differences in programming and functionality. If I can find the doc, I'll post a link.

No, we were actually on an old Northern Telecom Meridian before moving to CM4, so it's not that they're used to one or the other. I've noticed pricing for MM seems to be higher than LX, but really the pain will be in the migration. Appears it's more of a pain with MM than LX from what I've read.
