Change the hadware ID in the phone options. The macs stay the same via cisco for some reason.

You are probably getting a duplicate mac address generated.

We had a similiar issue and found that the software firewall on the PC was blocking the 2050 connection after 60 seconds. A simple way to test this is to temporarily disable the local software firewall and see if the problem continues. Once we modified the firewall rules to always allow the connection, the issue was resolved.

Firewalls blocking the watchdog packets are the number 1 cause. Firewals on the network, as well as Firewalls on the local PC must allow these watchdog timer reset messages get through or the phone will think it has lost communications.

NTP NN43001-730 "Communication Server 1000 Release 5.x Troubleshooting Guide for Distribotrs" has some good diagnostic information. For example, it tells you the commands to query an IP Phone/Softphone to retrieve it's last "reset reason".
