I2004 will not display KEY 16 MWK

Key 16 MWK does not display on my i2004 as a softkey. The only softkeys that appear are Transfer, Conference, and Forward. Can anyone tell me what completely easy step I am missing?

key 16 is the key with the downward arrow on it......hope that helps

Key 16 is not a soft key on the screen so light should go on for MWI and as above for which button to press

Thanks for the help. I had tried that button earlier when I saw it mentioned in the 39xx docs. Well, you have to push the line button first. Much different than the 2008's and 2616's that are our standard issue.

Coming from a Rockwell Spectrum background I have always found Nortel's documentation and interface confusing and cryptic. Should have known that a softkey is not actually a softkey.

2008 & 2616 must also break dial tone first as well. All the mwk does is call the DN of the VM system.

Well then I'm really confused. On my 2008's and 2616's I can program a key as "MWK 5499", same as on the i2004, and when pressed it breaks dial tone and calls 5499. On the i2004, I have to press a line key and then the MWK key to call 5499.

Seems like most technology upgrades where an extra step is added for no reason.

might want to revisit a 2616 set and test that again, as it will not work without dialtone.

Man, I miss pulling cable, crossconnects, etc. Sometimes I don't think I'll ever come out of this braindead feeling. Off to find some caffeine...
