Is it possible to secure the configuration of IP phones to restrict users from changing TN's? I recall some documentation about securing IP phones and using install passwords with timeouts, however I can't seem to find any NTP on this.

System:
- 81C Succession Rel 3.0
- Signalling servers (sse-2.11.14)

I wasn't able to find the information in the NTP recommended. Most spoke more about entering the installer password at the set level. Do you have a specific NTP number?

I did figure out however how to enable installer passwords. The most important question is "Do you know what happens to registered sets once nodePwdEnable is run and a password is set?"

We have approximately 150 IP users (50 Call Center Agents) and I want to avoid unforeseen issues.

Please let me know on what the result of this change might be.

Cheers.

No change for registered users. However I'm using rls 4.5 so I don't know for rls 3.0
nodePwdSet for entering the password.
nodePwdEnable to activate it.
If you install or reboot a phoneset you'll be prompted to enter teh node password to enter the TN config.
Very simple.

if the password is enforced on all reboots how does the configuration account for i2050 users would typically reboot their phones daily (or multiple times per day)?

Thanks, I just implemented the password, and temp password in order to test. It works great and I now understand the password prompt if a phone is rebooting. It doesn't stop it from loading the configured TN, just prevents users from entering a new TN.

Thanks to all for you help.
