Can you explain in more detail please?. Are you suggesting that the I2004 phone will support firmware 0692D93 ?. As far as I know, the last release of UNISTim software available for the I2004 was 0604DCO.bin.
Are you planning on converting a I2004 to work as a SIP phone?
The reason is that I think you are referring to the Nortel Multimedia Communication Server 5100 system. I have attached a guide that I think relates to your problem.
Yes, that is correct Firebird. Most people are unaware that i2004 (and possibly 2002 and 2001) Phase 2 sets can be manually converted to SIP by TFTP. I couldn't find an MCS 5100 forum here, and I couldn't find anything on Avaya's FTP site. God, I hate that company.
I found 0602B76 and 0603B76 -- I don't recall is one is Phase 0 or Phase 1 or if one is for the i2004, and the other the i2002.
0692D93 firmware is SIP. It's a two-stage process that involves loading CT12D97 first. Some i2004s phones came preloaded with SIP from the factory, but I can't find the product codes on their website which says which code it was.
I've been on Avaya's website and downloaded a load of stuff to do with "Multimedia Communication Server 5100", but I'm still unable to find the SIP software for the I200x phones.
I have quite a bunch of UNISTim firmware and some SIP ones for the 11xx phones but none for 200x etc. I'll keep looking tomorrow.
The only file of interest was called "2004SIP.img". The readme file states
IMPORTANT! September 30, 2005
Documentation may indicate the use a file named i2004tftp.cfg
This is an error. The correct name of the file is 2004tftp.cfg
Likewise, there may be references to a file named i2004sysConfig.dat
This is also incorrect. The correct name of the file is 2004sysConfig.dat
Likewise, there may be references to a file names i2004SIP.img
This is also incorrect. The correct name of the file is 2004SIP.img
The files in this directory reflect the correct file names.
!!! IMPORTANT !!!
Systems upgrading from MR 3.5.2 and earlier to MR 3.5.3 and later must
have another copy the file 2004tftp.cfg on the TFTP server with the name
i2004tftp.cfg. IP Phone 2004 phones running a firmware version less than
or equal to 0692D93c02 require a valid file named i2004tftp.cfg to exist
on the TFTP server to allow firmware upgrades or downgrades. All later
versions of IP Phone 2004 SIP firmware require a valid file named
2004tftp.cfg to exist on the TFTP server for up/downgrades, but the
file named i2004tftp.cfg is not required.
Both of these files can exist on the same TFTP server at the same time.
Their content should be identical.

I would be keen to find out if the I2004 phones could be made into SIP IP phones as I didn't think it was possible. Check the link below.
The 2004SIP.img file is the 0692D93c07 SIP firmware. The procedure is very similar to the one posted here with respect to upgrading Phase 0 i2004s except it would use a Solar Winds TFTP server.
