I have a BCM test system version 3.6 and trying to get i2004 sets to work on it. I already have the soft phone working off of it. Can anyone out there give me the information on how to get the i2004 sets working off of it....
Yes I do, I can get the phone to log into the server but the BCM will not issue a extension number to it phone to allow it to come up and operate. Could there be a revision issue with the phones and they needa flash upgrade for the 3.6 system?
Are the phones on a local LAN?
Does the Phone get to the registration stage?
Have you tried switching of Auto DN and setting it manually?
Is there a firewall between you and the BCM?
The BCM will do a firmware upgrade if it is required?
Yes I have a small LAN setup, BCM, 1 pc for programming and to run soft phone a 5 port switch this is all in a test environment, no firewall at all plus the BCM firewall is turned off only thing on is DHCP in the BCM ... The BCM issues a Ip address to the phone but the phone never logins to the server to be issued a extension number or down load programming. There are 8 licenses for Ip in the BCM the phones never seem to register there self with the BCM. I have tried to set up the phones manually and the same thing… I am at a loss to what is the problem….
BCM IP is LAN 1 10.10.10.1
BCM IP is LAN 2 10.10.11.1
PC\Softphone 10.10.10.2
IP i2004 set 1 10.10.10.3
IP i2004 set 2 10.10.10.4
Can not find a gateway address on BCM , is there a different heading name?
Ip phone 1 set up
IP# 10.10.10.3
Server 10.10.10.1
port 7000
Thank you all very much for the help.... Yes I did have to change the next hop router to 10.10.10.1 but the phone still do the same thing , they will not download programming from the server ... When the phones are first powered up they find the server and about 2 minutes later they reset and do the same thing again... I look into IP terminals and they never register in the system...
I have nat turned off ... My set up is simple BCM , 5 port switch , PC for programming and soft phone and 2 IP hard phones everthing is at default on system execpt for installed cards in BCM .........
I can not see why if you have the system as default and the phones setup as you say why it is not working unless you have some faulty I2004s. Have you tried to run 3 softphones on the system instead of IP handsets.
Can you see ethernet connectivity on the switch between you I2004 handsets and the switch?
My switch is a D-Link DSS-5+. Yes I agree this should not be this difficult, I do have experience in setting up IP systems Avaya IP Office, NEC, and Definity also. I am just stumped by this one... I have not got the PC's to set up soft phones right now... As for connectivity yes I can see the system and the phones talking back and forth on the switch....
