i2004 callers list

CS1000 release 5.5, with Sig Server - i2004 Firmware ver 0604DCJ; 'I configured the 'Personal Directories' in Element Manager and the 'Callers' and 'Redial' soft buttons now show on the i2004 phones. However, hitting either button will show "creating user please try again". No clue which user it's referring to and it's been creating that user for a while now. Tried resetting the phone but same issue. Any ideas?
 
Sounds like a problem with the directory/redial/callers application running on your sig server. That "creating user.." message is coming from that application.
 
So even if it's working fine on the non IP phones there may still be an issue? If so, what is the difference between the 'callers'/'redial' list on non IP phones and IP phones? I guess I don't fully understand it.
 
After any configuration changes to the PD/CL/RL application you have to reset the Signaling Server the application resides on. I have in the past also had to reset the TPS Servers associated with the IP Phones. In my setup the TPS and PD/CL/RL applications are on seperate Signaling Servers.
 
Currently only 8 ip phones are setup, and there is only 1 Signaling Server. I didn't really make any changes to the PD/CL/RL application, unless enabling it in EM is considered a change. I guess I will have to try resetting it to see what happens but I'll have to wait for after hours to do so.
 
Yes, Changes through EM is what I mean. 8 phones is fine to run the PD/CL/RL application on the same SigServ as TPS application. After 1000 Ip phone users you will have to seperate the Apps into dedicated SigServs.
 
After reset of Sig Server Callers/Redial options are no longer on the phone display or in Telephone options menu. I've tried resetting the phone several times but no change. I don't understand why the CL/RL is such an issue on these phones. If enabling in EM does not fix it then I don't know what else it could be.
 
From the telephone option,enable the call log option for all the calls.it shuld be phone it self.
 
I would enable it if the option was there, since the reboot of Element Manager that option is gone and since reboot I'm having issues with the firmware downloading to the phones. I think when I figure why that is happeing the option may be available again.
 
After resetting EM again the issue was resolved. Thanks.
