Hi.
We have just received another batch of I2002 phones.
However, the external power requirements for these are 48VDC, all the other I2002 phones we have are 16VAC.
Has Nortel changed the power requirements as the phones are identical in every other respect.
It seems crazy to have two identical phones, one requiring a 16VAC adapter, the other a 48VDC adapter.
Has anyone else come across this issue?

Regards

Dave.

I have noticed this as well, I tested one and have had no issues, probably have a dozen or so in the feild working, have not heard why this has changed?

there are two types of the 2002:

1. a dual power unit that is designed to run off PoE (at 48VDC) as well as 16VAC, which gets converted to 48VDC by a power module "daughterboard" in the set itself.

2. a PoE set only - labeled 48VDC. This set also has a power adapter jack, but no module inside it...

Ran into a similar situation, hope that helps.
