still very lost, I want i graph which has a stacked graph on it and a line graph on it,

25 |Z z . 5
20 |Z z x 4
15 |x. z z. x 3
10 |x x. z x 2
5 |x x x x 1
0 |---------------------0

X - series 1 bottom of stack
Z - series 2 top of stack
. - series 3 line graph @ different scale

Tell me what is not working? Did you format 1 & 2 as a stacked column and 2 as a line chart?

With the line series, format the series axis tab - plot on secondary axis.

BTW, a SERIES is IN a CHART. The corresponding source data is a RANGE.

I am assuming that you have used the chart wizard to create you chart WITH ALL 3 SERIES, by selecting the stacked column type.

THEN, you select the third SERIES and do the steps as outlined above.
