How do you go about doing that? I know that once upon a time it was a one week course in texas at an HP seminar. I want an in-house technician to be able to service the 100 odd printers that we have. I know I can't be a var and get the parts at a reduced price, but I'm sure it would cut back on cost just to not have a 35$ dollar diagnostic bill to replace pick up rollers that cost a dollar.

sounds like a phone call to HP is in order. OR. . .you might call your service organization (or Comark,Staples) to find out how they obtain service certification for their techs.
Gonna be tough because they change things so frequently. Parts, drivers, models. . .never-ending updates. Best wishes for you!
