I use Veritas Backup Exec 8.5

I use Veritas Backup Exec 8.5 on several Windows NT
servers. Backup Exec takes an average of about 1 hour
and 15 minutes to backup the entire hard drive. But
often a backup job will stay active for hours, with nothing
being backed up. I will then have to abort the job or
reboot to end the job. I have started using all new tapes
and clean the drive regularly. Any answers why this is
happening will be greatly appreciated.

Have you applied any of the patches? Any errors in the backup log or event log?
