I think our network is disabling the admin terminal via the CLAN 1

Hello,
We have several Definity G3r v9.5 which we access thru INADS via the CLAN. This has been working flawlessly for 10+ years. Recently, both the INADS and local terminal access are being repeatedly disabled. By which I mean not only can we not access the PBX remotely from ASA (communications error- no ports available) but the local terminal is also disabled (no prompt). The only way to get the terminal back online is to reboot the PBX- the hard way, from the cabinet breaker switch. Then all access is restored until the next day.
The network admins have told us that there are no configuration changes and network security says they are not running a scan or any other processes.
Does anyone have suggestions for troubleshooting? We're at the end of our ropes here rebooting the PBX's every time we need to change a set name. At this point, I am going to try unplugging the network cables and trying modem access to prove whether the network is the issue.

Thanks!

Isn't the terminal is directly connected to the G3 cabinet. The LAN isnt involved in that connection. I think you can rule out LAN issue.

It is and yes, that does seem logical. However, all 4 of our systems SIMULTANEOUSLY quit responding and they are spread all over the state. And they are not networked together. The only commonality is that they are on the same WAN. WEIRD.

There is a bug in 9.5 with the TN799c. Upgrade to a 799DP and your issues may go away. I had the same issue with a customer. They would run nightly reports and the system would hang the admin session upon exit. After X amount of days, once they reached the simultaneous session limit of 7 or whatever it was for the release, you would get "no ports available" and no access via the clan, terminal, and modem. Resetting the processor was the only way to clear. Replacing the CLAN stopped the sessions from hanging and therefore resolved the no access issue.

Yes, this is exactly it. After we contacted Network services they insisted that there were no configuration changes, however in the course of their investigation the issue has now stopped (guessing they discovered a process running and stopped it). However, I think this is good advice to upgrade card.
Thank you, lopes1211!!

They're like $10 on ebay. Just make sure you get the black 25 pair to RJ45 adapter with it. Your existing grey adapter used on your 799c will not work.

Turns out we already have that card. However, I feel vindicated about the cause. Thanks again.
