In the rush to get systems in place and working, I was handed a stand alone server for voice mail and 5 IPO's to install. All is well and everything is working from a telephony perspective. In the last month though, the customer's IT group finally finished with their new domain and exchange migration and added my VMPRO server to the new domain and gave me a domain email, blah blah blah...

Cutting the story short: When I go to control panel and select IPO Voice Mail Pro(32 bit) the first message I get is that there is no mail client available to complete the request. Also, the server is 2008R2 64 bit...so I wonder if thats part of the problem...

Should I just wipe this server and start over? I feel like I'm hitting windows related roadblocks that wouldn't be there if the thing had been put together in the proper order to begin with.

Opinions?

I think you are right that it would be quicker to install vm pro
register the server on the domain & configure the email etc then re install VM pro (you do have a backup of the customer recordings & the call flow?).

it would probably be quicker still to install the applications server & avoid all the IT dept. induced disruptions becasue they are bound to change it again later :)

Both stop working when you open Windows

If you do not have a map client on the server already, then YES you'll get that error. Install Outlook!

Migrating it to a domain is EASY. Make sure UAC is disabled (noticed you have 2008R2 on there). Change the login user for the voicemail pro service to the EMAIL user on the domain (make sure that user is also a local admin).

Do NOT configure the email through the control panel! Its in the client itself! (make sure outlook is already installed, you might have to restart VM services for VMP to see outlook).

Restart services.

Done.

sorry that should say "MAPI client" not map client.
