I have not had any bad experiences with it, at least in it's current build.
I have been part of a pilot (9 months) on W2K Pro with our Corp. still running NT4. I have not noticed any loss of performance or issues relating to connectivity.

However, it was pretty iffy with the early builds. Now that I am running 2195 everything seems to be stable.
When testing W2K Professional we ran 4 machines against NT 4.0 Server and had no problems and actually liked some of the increased features to help its connection with NT 4.0

I must also admit that Win 2K seems to be able to connect to any 95, 98 or NT box on the net. I can not vouch for other operating systems as we as a MS shop

win2k as far as i know and tested can connect with any microsoft windows os win3.1 and nt 3.1 not tested it also is able to share printers with apple macintoshs over a network
