I "split" ports and now people can listen in on the other station!

Since our switch in one building was fully populated, I decided to buy some 110RA2-12 terminal blocks to allow two stations per port. All is well except that now, the two shared stations, can listen in on each other! At first I did not believe them but I tried it myself.

Is this normal or is there a setting that I am missing?

It's an Avaya G3 system.

I'm going to assume that your talking about analog ports. If that is the case then result of your actions is perfectly normal.

No, ISDN which is why it is very odd.

Tone Commander 6210Ts and AT&T 8210Ts. The 110RA2-12 allows you to have two ISDN stations on a single port. You just set the stations to have the same port and when they initialize they will have a TEI of 64 or 65.

Any ways, they seem to have a bridged appearance and I have no idea why. This is the same for all stations that are sharing a port.

Any ways, I had to return the wiring closet back to normal.

The situation only occured during "peak" hours. Otherwise there were no problems. Unfortunately, I will be leaving this place of business next week so I won't be able to hook them up.

No issues after wards which is good. But, still confusing.
