I am looking for somewhere to download Winspm for a Merlin Legend system

Can someone tell me where to download it?
I went to Avaya but they only have upgrades for download

Thanks
Chris

you can download at Avaya... it's deceptive

if you download the version 2 to 3 thing, it will actually do a full install... then you can "upgrade." This is file winspm23.exe

Curiously, the version 5 upgrade is also a full version too... this has had mixed results for me... it worked at first, failed on 2nd machine, worked on 3rd. STrange. this is file winspm4to5.exe

the full link is here:

be sure to put all that back together...

I can help you if needed

Thanks for the link to download WinSPM -- I had been looking for it too.

My next question is (and maybe this is in the WinSPM documentation) how does the PC to connect to the Merlin system?

I see a DB9 and DB25 connector on my Merlin Mail box.

your questions sound so familiar! I was in this same situation less than a month ago.

You need a DB25-RJ45 connector. It's lucent/avaya/whatever part # 355-A. Do a search on google for "355a" and you'll find it. It's around $30-$50.

When you get that, you'll need to find a db25-db9 converter and a standard ethernet patch cable.

The way mine is setup, from my laptop I have a db9-db25 converter going from my COM port to the 355A. From the RJ45 connector on the 355A, I have a standard ethernet patch cable going into the ADMIN port of the Merlin. You'll find that port on the processor blade.

At least, that's what mine is like. Your milage may vary.

Once you install WinSPM and have the physical connection, you need to setup a WinSPM site. Use 2400/8/n/1 for the connection... direct to whatever com port you are using.

It's actually quite simple once you have all the parts you need.
