I need to have network card active without cable

Hi,

I have on my laptop some application witch checks avability of network. When I go home from my job I must to make home netvotk to be able to run that application.
My question is:
Do someone know how to force my network card to be active without crossover cable with my home PC, only with some cable or with some software.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean there.

Do you actually want a network connection? What do you want the laptop to be connected to?

If no physical connection to the ethernet port is active then it will remain in-active as far as I know.

Hi,
you can use a blank RJ45 connector with no cable crimped on it where you short circuit your Ethernet Send Pair with the Receive Pair. This way you will get a physical link that will get your NIC up.
Connect pins 1 - 3 and 2 - 6.

Install the Microsoft Loopback adapter:

Thanx to matttheknife I think that is best solution for me but don't work. Loopback adapter is not possible because I must to have active my real network adapter.
