Is there any way to prevent someone from plugging in a phone a creating their own ext?

Someone keeps plugging in a phone at a remote site and it created an ext 9.

That kills all outgoing calls...

Thanks!

If you are talking about IP handsets, yes.

Under the system/lan1/gatekeeper tab, turn off auto create ext and user.

IP Phones?

If so turn off the Auto Extn Create under System

Ok, so that blocks the creation of the ext., but a user is still created.

When this happens it kills all outbound calls. Is there anyway to block this?

Thanks!

If you untick it, it will create an IP Phone in Extentions but not a user.

Upgrade to V4 and then you can block the creation of users and extns.
