Hello,
I work on paging systems which often connect to a local PBX for access to make paging calls or intercom calls. We often setup the Paging terminal as a station and simply allow the PBX to ring the system and it goes off hook to connect. This is the normal way for the Paging system to receive an incoming call and process a page.
In a current case, I need the system to be able to call out through a PBX and would like to set it up as a CO to connect to the PBX via a trunk, but so far it does not signal the PBX correctly and the PBX never answers. I would also need the PBX to then connect another trunk for a call through the PSTN. This is an unusual configuration for me where the Paging system actually reverses the normal process and makes an outgoing call.
I guess I could do the normal "station" setup and dial out that way, but I am just eager to understand the trunk connection process, if it can be explained to me.
Thanks
