Hi. my operating system is vista x86 32bit.
4GB of RAM.
i tried the audio driver from the motherboard DVD disc.
i also tried the microsoft's UAA high definition audio driver.
i also downloaded the realtek's latest audio driver.

i downloaded the new mobo driver from mobo official website, but i realize the driver package does not include the audio driver.

anyone know how to verify that the audio is not defective?? is it driver issue or hardware issue?

do you know any good way or any other windows environment to verify or check the audio that is not defective physically?
if it is defective, there's no way we could install the driver.

You could use a bootable CD, such as Knoppix (linux distro with different audio driver support) or create one using BartPE...

but, it is a known problem that Vista does not like RealTek audio chips (at least some installs, mine works exceptionally well though I have a 64bit version of Vista)...

update the driver:

One word of advice I have to give is try the system with only 2gb of ram, 32bit OS's are restricted to 3gb of ram, having more can occasionally cause non specific errors.

FYI I have always had the Vista OS correctly install the sound drivers every time, I have never had to worry about using external drivers (all I do is play games, the Vista base drivers are great for that).

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

It would be helpful to know the make.model of the mainboard.

In the BIOS, is HD Audio Enabled? Are the front panel jacks set to HD or AC'97? I would make sure all settings in the BIOS agree, maybe try AC'97 instead of HD.
