Hi all need some help and will need to explain as best I can.

I have a font I like, that I want to use as a logo. The problem is the font is too "thick". I have converted the font to outlines and the only way I seem to be able to thin it down is to add a "white 0.5 stroke". This is fine when I use it on a white background, but when I use it on a red background etc, obviously the white stroke I added shows.

Is there a way I can "thin" this font/text I have outlined so i can drop it on any colour background like any normal outlined font please

Hope someone can help. I have Illustrator CS2 on a mac

Kind regards

Alex

Object > Path > Offset Path. Enter negative # (ex. -.125 pt.)

...as matzki above posted...

...however, the text doesn't even need to be outlined to paths, negative offset works on editable text too...
