Hi all…
I am 48 years old graduate with a BS in Computer Science. I have almost 20 years of IT experience in a mayor oil company in South America. My experience includes just a few years in programming (Cobol, JCL, and other old extinct languages). I have no experience in the programming tool.. In my last years in the Industry I was the IT project leader for 3 mayor Reengineering projects and manage a huge budget and a team of several system analyst and programmers.. The project included the all the business processes analysis all the way to the IT architecture to support the new processes. I managed the development al the IT infrastructure of a Pilot Organization built more current technologies but I did not directly supervise these developments. In the deployment fase (to other organizations) is when I left the project and later the co. for several reasons.. I have not worked in the IT field in almost 8 years… And now I want to come back. I live in the northeast (MA) and my experience in South America and in the oil industry seems unimportant…
I would like to land a job in system analysis, business system analysis or something similar. I would not mind working in an entry level position or even as a programmer and then win my way back as software engineer.
I need help in defining a training path back to software engineering.
How can I make my resume such that, even though I have a good amount of experience in a long set of technologies, I wouldn’t mind starting at an entry-level position (specially in the medical industry)….
Thanks…
