Hi I need some suggestions for cheap CFM hosts. My requirements are: I need unlimited space, and bandwidth. I would like the relationship to be personal so I can call him up if I need something done with the server configuration. I am opening a site to host peoples images and need a remote server for now (see why I need unlimited space?) Thanks in advace for your help.

cheap hosts will not provide the bandwidth or reliability you will need for image hosting.

I use ExpertHost.com

Customer support is really good and entry level package costs $15 per month

No problems to date!!!

cfm-resources.com, based in Florida, has a wide range of plans from $30 one time set up to $100 a month. More space costs $10 year for 100 megs. But they're not at all reliable, they go down all the time and are rather slow.

"But they're not at all reliable, they go down all the time and are rather slow."

That should be bold and all caps. can't stress that enough about them. NO customer service, web site is down at least once a week for a few hours, I just don't have the time or money to switch right now...

Ok then why are you even recommending them to me? Why would I want a webhost that sucks? LOL

Well, cfm is cheap and flexible, just not good at all. Ignored customer service emails, the only way to get a problem fixed is to call them long distance...

Experthost looks nice and it gets cheaper the more you host, I like that a lot.

crystaltech.com

asbsolutely stellar tech support, 24/7, toll-free

outstanding web-based control center

check out their forums, see how existing customers are encouraged to exchange thoughts and ideas -- and note the company does indeed pay attention to its customers

i've been with them over a year and they are fabulous

oh yeah, recently they lowered prices while increasing services -- how many big hosts can say that?

crystaltech.com...

do they let you upload your own cfx, and custom tags, and make mappings?? cfm-resources lets you do all that, but servers are slow, and customer service doesn't exist..

i'm sorry, i do not know, as i have never needed to use a cfx or custom tag or mapping, but i'm fairly confident the answer will be yes

the people on the coldfusion forum would be able to answer your question -- there's no restriction, by the way, it's perfectly okay for a potential customer to ask a question, and you will get a solid answer, possibly even from a tech support staff member (they keep an eye on the forums)
