folders like c:\inetpub\logon have been deleted or removed by a hacker. I have tried to reinstall sbs from the cd s but this does not replace the missing content. anyone have a guess how to reinstall the folders and files?

From last backup ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks, after endless hrs removing viruses and rebuilding norton corp av. the restore from backup started it all over again. not an option?

Don't do a full system restore, just compare the directories that your backup has available to restore with the directories you are missing and only restore what you need. Temporarily restore them to a separate directory so that you can run a virus scan on them before you put them back into their original production directories.
