I have problems sharing internet connection (ICS)

I have a windows 2000 server in an office, this server have a DNS and DHCP services active, i have 10 clients that connects this server each one has xp, The server is sharing internet (ICS) i don't using NAT, the problem is some pages de cliets can access but hotmail and msn messenger can't access i do know why this happens somebody can't help i appreciate a lot

You cant run DHCP and ICS on the same network, ICS has a mini built into DHCP client that will can cause conflicts on your network.

As for problems with pages not loading sounds like its some sort of DNS issue. Check your forwarders and delete any root hints (.) you have.

Check the host files on the clients that are not working correctly, you might also want to run spyware/adware program on these computers along with virus scanners.

Thanks FaiTHLeSS for your answer i forgot something maybe you can help me with these the DNS is working correctly in the server i can load the hotmail site and microsoft site but in the clients the internet explorer is loading the page but never finished i don't know how i can resolve this, i try with NAT but in this case the server don't resolve any domain.

Are you saying that the page starts to load but doesnt complete? You could try deleting all temp internet files. Im not sure why the page would only half load. Unless you are having some sort of internet connection problems.

never load the page the IE is trying to load the page in the client but never finished but only this happens in the clients in the server i can't load

http://www.microsoft.com,

but some sites like

http://www.ibm.com

is loading perfect, and connect to the msn messenger but in the clients i can't do this, thanks again for your response i hope you can't tell me what happens

What happens if you try to ping

http://www.hotmail.com

or

http://www.microsoft.com

does it give you a valid IP back?

Yeah you will get request timed out because M$ block icmp pings but did it give you a valid IP ? like 207.68.173.245 ?

but only that happens with hotmail if i ping a valid ip that response thanks again for your response.

I have the same problem with ICS, can't login to msn messenger and also can't open hotmail.

1 Solution could be to use a router instead of ICS, you can pick up cable/adsl routers cheaply now.
