I have a small network running NT4 Server and various client pc op systems. Recently the client pcs were unable to access any network resourses even though the server could be pinged. On the clients there was an error message saying not enough system resourses were available to carry out the current operation when I tried to explore to the mapped drives. I looked in event viewer on the server and saw the following message repeated many times:

"The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the pool was empty."

Are these two problems related and what can I do about this.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

The quick answer is to re-boot. You may want to look at your virtual memory settings. Make sure that you have adequate free disk space for virtual memory (the page file) to expand. You might even want to move it to another partition that has more room.
