Hi I'm ina big hurry qith this problem. I have this message:

Tipo de error:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (0x80004005)
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
/premium/form_pago_dep.asp, line 7

I'm using ASP, and COM objects made in VB with SQL Server.
I checked the user and password and restarted the services (IIS, COM+ and SQLServer).

This error happened a few days ago, before that the system were without problems.
PLZ any help!

It seems a network problem.
Are your SQL and IIS servers on the same domain?
Or (at least) in a trusted relationship?
Can you "view" the SQL server machine from the IIS server machine? or it requires some kind of autentication?

The Server i'm talkin' about it's on housing. It has installed SQL Server 7, ISS and Windows 2000 Service pack 2.
I think maybe if I install the last patch (esn_sql70sp4.exe). But i don't have backups of my databases.

by all means, make backups first! Have you checked with the network admin to see if he changed anything right about the time the error message started to appear? If this used to work, then I would check with everyone who has admin rights to the network or the SQL server to find out what they have recently changed. This will probably lead to the cause of your problem.
