PLEASE HELP

PS. Wot eva a vendor is im not one of them!!!

What type of system is this? You should have gotten a restore disk with the system. There are usually two options on the restore disk - one is just to reinstall Windows, and the other is to format your hard drive, and start from scratch. Depending on your system, someone may be able to talk you through the steps, as they aren't always the most intuitive.

The windows system restore is a differnt option then using the original disks that came with the laptop. Windows tries to go back to a "good" configuration, where the restore disks actually reinstall software.

That's the flat thing you got with the pushy thingie inside like when you unfold it.

FatesWebb

if you do what I suggested it is not my fault...

well i press enter on boot but nothing happens so i pressed exit and save.... wot do you suggest then....?

Who made your system? Dell, Gateway, IBM, Compaq? Let's start there, then maybe we can talk you through the procedure. Some of the software you have to insert while windows is running, some software you can boot from, they are mostly the same, but they have special nuances.

If you insert the CD, and it asks you for a boot choice (i.e from hard disk, or from installation disk), you choose to boot from the CD. If it doesn't ask you that, please write down the message, and post it here - we can maybe answer what is going wrong.

My Laptop is Hewlett Packard, Here is a link to show you what model it is:

Right i will tell you exactly what i do: I load the computer up as normal then i put the system recovery disk in that came with the computer, it comes up with the instructions on how to boot your computer, so then i resart my computer and when the HP logo comes up i press F2 and then i come to the PHOENIX BIOS Setup Utility becuase that is what the instructions tell me to do, then it tells me to go along to the BOOT option then put CD-ROM/DVD Drive top of the list, so then i do this after that i dont know wot to do and when i press Enter nothing happens so i assumed i had to go to EXIT & SAVE, when i do this it looks like it beggins to work, then this is where it says: *************************************
WRONG MODEL NOTEBOOK
**************************************

This is the bit i dont understand because it is the system restore software that came with the laptop....

TIP !
You can find more details about recovering the factory installation of Windows on the Recovery
CD: the file readme.txt is in the CD’s root directory.

i have followed that but it just says then reboot but i dont know what to press when it say reboot so then i go to exit and save and then that error message comes up which i dont understand????

Don't press F2 .
Just boot with the recovery cd in the cd/dvd-rom .
If it says wrong notebook , contact your dealer .
Sounds to me that you have wrong sets of recovery disks.

I dont press F2 and it just loads up windows as normal??

Can't you give some more details in the error situation .
" compleatly fluffed " doesn't give people in this forum
any clue in what kind of windows problem you have .
You state that windows start .
What is the problems ,EXACTLY described (as well as you can )
