i have a compaq presario laptop mod

i have a compaq presario laptop model 1255 with a 12.1" LCD display.a amd k-6 3d with 32mb ram & win98
i have this problem :
1 month back back i started getting a black line across the lcd screen which has now increased to 3.
i 1st thought it to be the problem of display card but its not.
i think the prob is with the LCD display
can anyone suggest me what to do??
can it be repaired??etc.

When I have seen the black line across a laptop screen it has been the display. The only way to fix a display that I have seen is to replace it. Being a Compaq you will need to goto an authorized dealer to get the part. They will probably want to do the work also.
Remeber to check the price if the display. May be better to buy a new one.
